Over a year later, we finally painted our guest bedroom & office using Farrow & Ball Pigeon! This is the room where we DIY’d a Murphy bed with built-in inset cabinets (see the tutorial here). A few years after we moved in, we finished out our basement into a family room from what used to look like a dungeon. It’s a practical family room where we watch movies and it doubles as a playroom. It’s the room where we spend the most time during the cold seasons, so we thought it was about time we add some nice design elements to make it as cozy as can be. I’ve been wanting to add some wall moldings and knew this was the room to try out!

Phase 2 of our #stuccofarmhouse rental property renovation began in early April. We renovated the first floor interiors of both units in the duplex and finished out the basement in the cabin unit. Our current tenant in the cabin renewed his lease and was delighted to have a usable basement. The plan was to finish at the end of May and lease out the two duplex units in June but no later than July 1st.

*We cleaned our teak wood outdoor furniture with a no-sanding method using products that state they are “ideal for use on teak, rosewood, eucalyptus, bamboo, and mahogany”

About nine years ago, we got our second-hand Smith & Hawken teak wood outdoor dining furniture set for our patio.

Last fall, Jack’s nursery got a makeover into a transporation themed big kid room and I may have teared up a little. He’s our last baby and this transition was bittersweet.

I never got around to doing a blog post on his big kid bedroom and thought it was time. Jack loves tractors, dump trucks, trains, trucks, race cars…basically anything with wheels. I wanted to incorporate a transportation theme that didn’t look busy or scream CARS.

Ever since Jack got his room makeover, our girls have been asking for one, too. Ava is almost 8 and Livy is almost 6 years old. Their room is simple and sweet and was a great starting point (tour more of their room here). But there’s one thing, it’s lacking personality. They would love to have color on the walls and some artwork to express their interests and passions.
